Peugeot 504 Licenced Body 313mm
Hobbytech, a French designer and manufacturer of RC cars, is proud to offer this licensed replica of the 504 pickup body shell. The box includes several accessories (fender flares, headlight guards and stickers) that let you recreate the version of your choice (traditional 504 pickup or Dangel version).
Peugeot 504 pickup body shell with a 313 mm wheelbase, adaptable to most scale models on the market.
The Peugeot 504 pickup was introduced in September 1979. It followed the traditional approach of the Sochaux-based automaker: when a new model joined the lineup, the previous model was converted into a utility vehicle. The 504 pickup was therefore launched the same year as the Peugeot 505.
The 504 pickup remained on sale for an exceptionally long time, finally leaving the production lines in Kenya in 2005 after more than 26 years of uninterrupted production. One reason for the end of this legendary utility vehicle was certainly the fierce competition from Japanese manufacturers at the time. Even so, it held its own against many brands on the global market for years. Even today, it is not unusual to see a 504 pickup hard at work in the French countryside or on an African trail, carrying out its demanding mission.
In 1986, the 504 pickup lineup was offered in two trim levels: Confort and Entrepreneur. The latter offered more than one ton of payload, with a bed extended by 4 cm and a limited-slip differential on the rear axle. Easily recognized by its distinctive bed, this is also the trim level we chose to reproduce as a scale model.
The 504 DANGEL pickup
The 504 was the first vehicle converted to 4WD by Henri Dangel. The conversion kit he developed at his factory in Haut-Rhin was quickly approved by Peugeot and adopted by professionals. This vehicle was designed for heavy-duty use and to compete internationally in the off-road market. In the 1980s, several drivers helped showcase French 4x4s by competing in the Dakar, the most famous rally raid.
